Do you think you can handle stillness? Meditation is not for sissies. Hearing, facing and calling out your dragon takes a warrior love, and determination, steadfast awareness, and some compassion. I had a chance to be still over the last two days. Really still. And quiet. And boy oh boy, was it noisy in there. When the waters settled I began to distinguish my dragon voice from my own. I felt a freedom unlike anything I have ever felt. And began to answer an important question. What matters most?
So the following bit is for the women I could not bring with me, but were there none the less (yes I dragged you there anyhow). I was HERE. I NOTICED. I ALLOWED. And I STAYED. For me, and for you.
Can You Handle Stillness?
Can you be HERE with your body and mind, and notice what sits inside, ALLOWING every morsel, whether it feels good, or bad, to just be? Can you STAY here, in the quiet chaos, in this one irreplaceable miracle of a moment and SEE the truth? Can you handle it?
When you touch stillness, is the pain too great, sorrow too deep, grief too tight in your chest so that you quickly fly to the safety of your stories?
What if you could sit down inside and STAY a while? Long enough to let the muddy waters settle, long enough to be able to see through to the TRUTH, to feel it, in every painful crevice, awake to the beauty.
You are free HERE.
Can you handle stillness, see it’s gifts, know they are there inviting you inside yourself, where they sit waiting for your discovery? Can you handle the intense joy they bring and get out of the way of the girl in you who wants to dance and write, and sing and paint them to the world? Can you handle stillness when it feels so good you think you will burst with a million golden sparkling rays of light and love?
Can you handle the TRUTH of the love longing to pour from your soul, it’s gentle tug on your heart calling you through the stillness?
Are you listening?
Be still.
You can handle it.
