Last year I was getting ready to have a lump removed from my upper arm and I was stressing about the surgery.  I thought “What if I die on the operating table?† I was worried that I hadn’t really had a chance to sit down and tell my kids about the secrets to life and happiness, about the meaning of life.  I hadn’t told them my stories.  I had been thinking of writing a book for years (many years) and never did anything about it.  Now was the time.  Well, I made it out of surgery alive and that was my chance.  I sat down and gathered my notes, my stories, my taekwondo essays, and my journals and I started writing.  Ultimately, I ended up telling a healing story,  putting together a series of events that spanned a six year period of time that began the day my son and I stepped into the dojang and ended the day we earned our black belts.  And that was just the beginning.  This book was written in hopes of inspiring you to find your passions and enjoy the journey.
