A collaboration made in heaven—wouldn’t that be nice?! Wonder what it would be like to find the perfect work spouse or partner; the one who does it just like you, can run with your energy and speed, and is a straightforward communicator? I wish I could clone myself, you think, because you haven’t been able to find anyone who can keep up. Craving a successful business collaboration so bad you’ve upped your affirmation and manifestation practices, just in case the Universe hasn’t been listening hard enough? Ever try one, and have it fail so badly you vow to go back to doing it all yourself again because you can’t stand the idea of another failure like that? If you can’t tell already, I’ve had an experience or two. Some not-so-great, and some, thankfully, so great that I wanted to write about it today. Partnering with awesome humans is hard, in any fashion. We didn’t all study the psychology of relationships. And even if we did major in that field, there are still struggles to be had and moved through. It’s not easy. Unless you find that right person. Then everything can be easy. How do we find them? It’s like everything else you’ve taught your badass self about what you’re doing in the world. Remember all the practices, tools and strategies you’ve already put into place? It’s just that this is about a fellow human; a complicated, dynamic, emotional, and unique individual, who you’ll have to practice your ninja levels of mindset mastery with. Because awareness is cool, when you’re making a decision about your own livelihood, but it’s crucial when more than one livelihood is at stake. Bad collaborations are born in fear. Outstanding, authentically successful ones are born in possibility, big vision, and strategy. Here’s what I found were the top 5 signs I’d created a recipe for disaster in past collaborations: I didn’t listen to my gut; that tiny not-so-great inkling, because I wanted it to work so badly.
I didn’t get super clear on the bigger vision, and it didn’t ultimately match up with theirs. I was not unapologetic about sticking to my niche, in the name of making it work with the person.
When red flags went up, instead of paying attention, I hoped they’d go away. The workload never felt equal and that ended up being a regular discussion. There are more, but I think that if I’d stuck with these five basic things, I would have prevented the lost energy, effort, and heartache in the end. I mean, friends were lost here, not just opportunities. And that’s what makes this so hard. However, I believe in action as your first strategy to authentic success; action despite not being ready or good enough. I’d rather try and fail, than never start out of fear of failure. So, I have made collaboration mistakes. And learned a great deal from them. That was the long road. I’m here to help you with a shorter, more powerful road to a successful business collaboration. I speak to healers. You’re a unique bunch of badasses with missions and callings to help the world wake up and be happy and healthy. You’re special, in my book, because you willingly chose this path, the one of trailblazer, teacher, and leader. Regular business strategy doesn’t work for you because you’re changing the paradigm. So when something rubs you the wrong way, you second guess yourself at first, because you’ve been taught it should be done a certain way. Then, you use your tools and realize, you’re not here to do it like everyone else.
You’re not here to do it like everyone else!
And because you’ve practiced listening to your intuition, and are connected to a bigger energy and wisdom, you get that your business will operate outside of the normal comfort zone and rules… …and that’s scary as shit. And you’re doing it anyway. You’re not alone. Let’s go over 10ways you will know that a prospective business collaboration is divinely aligned: 1. This feels good in your body; literally light, free, easy and fun 2. There are no little inklings of doubt or fear 3. You and your partner share the same big-ass vision, down to every last detail 4. Your niche is narrow, and the same as theirs, down to the flavor of green smoothie your ideal client loves to drink. 5. Red flags are immediately called out by one of you and easily solved. 6. Communication is straightforward, and easy. 7. Both parties do their share, consistently, and never have to question the other. 8. The energy between you feels bigger than each of you alone. 9. You share the same voice in terms of writing and speaking. 10. You’re in it for something much bigger than just your individual success, and so are they. There are more.
