Intuitive Writing Got me a Book Deal; Here’s How to Use it to Get Yours

Intuitive writing got me a book deal. Here’s how to use it to share your message in a bigger way!

Last year I was approached by an indie publisher for a blog idea they wanted to do for their website. They interviewed me for their Ask the expert series, and later when I mustered up the courage to email them back and ask if they’d be interested in taking a look at my book, they said yes!

What did I do to get their attention? I used a process of intuitive writing to Feng Shui my soul, tell my stories in an authentic, powerful way, and then started teaching that to others. They were interested in this thing I called Writing as a Path to Healing.

The writing part has never been an issue for me. I’ve been journaling since I was fifteen, blogging for my business since 2008 and am on my sixth book. It was the brave thing that was harder.

I ached to tell real stories about my childhood wounds and failed marriage that helped others know they weren’t alone, but that also didn’t trash my family or friends.

Was that even possible? I found out it was, by writing in a way that came from the most authentic, soul-driven place inside of me; by writing and speaking those messages from a bigger foundation of awareness, purpose, and alignment.

The process of intuitive writing is threefold: connect with the body, practice feeling, and write from that connected place.

I know I make it sound easy and sometimes it is. Sometimes whole poems flow from that space I connect to. In the beginning, not so much. It’s a practice. So I’ve broken it down in detail for you here to begin your own journey. A journey of awareness, expression, and magic. Enjoy the process and notice all the miracles along the way.

First, you must wake up:

Awareness is the foundation for everything you want in your life, including the courage to write, speak and share words that heal you and the world. Including the courage, you need to share your messages with bigger audiences and expose them to the ones who need to hear them the most. Practice it by quieting the mind and feeling the body.

Next, you must feel everything.

Since many of us have been taught not to feel, or worse, to stuff it, numb it or ignore it, this is no easy task at first. With practice, you’ll see that feeling is healing, and the gateway to the words, inspired ideas, messages, and stories you ache to share. The feeling is the language of your intuition. And it’s your intuition that you want to drive your bus when it comes to aligning with your desires, dreams, and goals, and then writing from that place.

Last, you must write and speak from that connection

Writing from this body-connected place might sound easy, but notice how quickly your inner critic tries to sabotage you with negative thoughts. Clearing your mind and writing from the intuitive, creative flow coming through will get easier, better, and more powerful with practice. At first, you’ll have to begin to master your thoughts, noticing them, detaching from them, and choosing something better. Rather than thinking our way through, intuitive writing comes from feeling our way through. And you’ll have to train yourself to do this new, healthier thing.

You can get to the point of the mind-body soul mastery of intuitive writing. My community of brave healers is here to help you do it. The next workshop starts in September and I invite you to join this brave healing revolution.

Begin writing, speaking, and sharing the words and messages that will help your clients, friends, family, co-workers, and loved ones heal. Start sharing your offerings in a bigger way and build the legacy you were born for from the calling that’s burning through you.

You were meant to thrive and your words will help you…if you’re brave enough to share them. But you don’t have to do this alone. In fact, you shouldn’t try. We don’t do anything this big in the world without help. So grab my hand and let’s do this together.
