The Cool Things About ChatGPT for Writers

ChatGPT could end your idea generation problems. I’ve been most excited about the niched ideas (endless) I received when I asked the program to spit out words about my ideal client.  The trick here is that you must understand your ideal client at the deepest level to make the program work well for you. Otherwise you’ll be spitting out a whole lot of words that will resonate with someone else’s ideal client and you’ll feel disappointed.

When you’re clear about the demographics and psychographics of your perfect, amazing ideal client, and you know what to feed ChatGPT, then voila, you’ll get a sea of ideas you can draw from when looking for what to write on social posts, blogs, and other educational content.

Here is what my friend Melissa Henry, a branding strategist and ideal client expert, has to say about ChatGPT and how it might help you.

“What do you wish your brand would do for you? Most people say they want their brand to:

  • Attract ideal clients to their business easily
  • Help them stand out as an authority in their niche
  • Speak for them when they aren’t in the room
  • Bring in leads that are already “warmed up”
  • Help them land more speaking engagements
  • Help them sell their books and programs easily

But it’s nearly impossible to get there without knowing who your ideal clients are at a deep level. Surface level understanding doesn’t cut the mustard, my friend! Up until now, when you wanted to learn all about what your ideal client thinks, feels and how they go about their day, you had to send out surveys, interview clients, obtain market reports, do a TON of “Google-ing”, etc. But now, it’s possible to use the power of AI to do most of your “buyers research” in record time.

Buyer’s research helps you gain a deep understanding of your target audience’s preferences, needs, motivations, and behaviors. By delving into buyer research, you unlock the juicy insights that enable you to tailor your marketing strategies, messaging, and offerings to effectively engage and convert your ideal customers.

While it’s important to gather information from various sources to get a complete picture, a SIGNIFICANT chunk of time is now saved for small business owners because of the introduction of AI. But what the heck do I mean by “buyers research”? I’m talking about finding out, at a deep level, the demographic and psychographic details about your ideal client.  For your specific niche, you want to know all about their:

  1. Common obstacles to success
  2. What their deepest desires are
  3. Common or negative beliefs
  4. Their insecurities
  5. Knowledge gaps between where they are and where they want to be
  6. External objections they may have about your product/service
  7. Hidden objections they may not even tell you
  8. What they are doing now that isn’t working for them

    …AND much, much more!

Maybe you are thinking, that’s great but what can I actually do with the results from all this awesome research?

How about…

  1. Creating social media posts that get engagement
  2. Lead magnets that convert
  3. Adding additional value to your current offer, without adding more of your time
  4. Increase your prices based on new value in offers
  5. Refining sales pages for higher conversion rates
  6. Improving close rates on sales calls
  7. Improving customer service with current clients due to understanding common concerns
  8. Creating webinars that sell without a sales call

Really, there are so many applications for what you learn from doing this research that most people don’t even think about. Maybe that’s another reason why they don’t spend the time to do it. Hmm. . .Anyway, I know your next question is how do you get this info with AI? Well, you certainly can use Chat GPT to do this. That said, while it will take a lot less time to do than before the advent of AI, it does take a lot of learning how to prompt and refine your prompts. It also takes a lot of time to get the breadth and depth of the results you need.

Thankfully, I’ve discovered a way more efficient tool, my new “secret” weapon, called “Mass AI” that does all the research you will need in about 25 minutes or so! Serious game changer for me and my clients! No matter how you go about it, this is something most small businesses must do in order to unlock the full potential of what’s possible. So, put on your research hat, grab your favorite beverage and get started, my friends!”

ChatGPT for Book Writing

ChatGPT for books? I don’t think so. I mean, go ahead and try to tell your personal stories using ChatGPT. Some of the information might be disturbingly spot on. But when it comes to whole books, and writing in a way your scenes come alive for the reader, ChatGPT won’t come close to producing the human element in books that is the reason readers read.

I wonder, if you knew a book was written by ChatGPT, would you want to read it?

I’m not sure I would. I’m not here to get to know a robot. I’m here to get to know you, a human with a soul, who’s the heart and soul of my business. I have an interest in feeling like I belong to a community who has my back. I’m excited when I’m seen and heard in ways words from AI will never provide. Our books do this for people.

Will my book coach go out of business now that ChatGPT is around? No, she won’t. Because a book coach does so much more for your writing than ChatGPT can do. When I read a manuscript I’m looking for how the scene is written. I’m interested in feeling something. I resonate with the writing as the words come in and the personal connection is established.

Could ChatGPT spit out a book outline, or even some general chapter ideas? Probably. And that may save you some time. But it’s your energy and effort with your personal scenes, dialogue, inner dialogue and the way you show us the scene that’s going to make us want to keep reading, and then also read your next book.

Will people make money off of ChatGPT-generated books? Probably. But I’d like to be a fly on the wall in the rooms of those readers when they slam the book shut and say, “Ugh, that was a waste of time,” and the book is thrown onto a dark shelf somewhere never to be handled again.

The words in books have energy and life that comes from the writer. They’re sacred. They have intention and purpose. How that will ever come from AI I do not know. In a time when the world desperately needs healing energy and intention, it’s not the time to rely on AI to write words for us. It’s time to slow down and create from the sacred energy that is us, that is love.

ChatGPT for Copywriting

This is where I get more excited about ChatGPT because it can add ideas for your business writing that enhance your personal stories in a way that fully resonate with your ideal clients. You may even get ideas you wouldn’t have thought of, ways to say something that help your ideal clients into your world at another level. In the case of creating sales pages and other copywriting that helps you speak directly to your ideal client’s deepest desires, I do recommend giving ChatGPT a try to see what comes. At a minimum, you might find a line of dialogue to pursue for the next social post you create.

The trick to it all? Getting super clear about your ideal client. And for my brave healers, remember, you can grab my ideal client masterclass workbook for free. Find that HERE.

Knowing the people who want what you have to offer at the next level of detail will change your business, whether you use ChatGPT or not. The combination of doing the ideal client work, and using ChatGPT to your advantage could be your superpower! Enjoy the adventure and keep your words real, authentic, and from the heart.
